In this activity, students take part in a class experiment to locate sounds when blindfolded.
By the end of this activity, students should be able to:
- design a sound location experiment and demonstrate their ability to organise this class experiment
- collate and interpret data into a sound location map.
Download the Word file (see link below) for:
- introduction/background notes
- what you need
- what to do
- discussion questions
- extension ideas
- student worksheet.
Nature of science
Research design requires planning not only for how the experiment is carried out but also how the data is collated, analysed and displayed.
Use the recorded PLD webinar Sounds of Aotearoa to explore fun ways you can learn and teach about sound.
